Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy.

Information on the processing of your personal data under Art. 13 GDPR. The German version of this page is legally authoritative; this translation is provided for convenience.

1. Overview

This notice explains which personal data is processed on this website, for what purpose, on which legal basis, and to which recipients it is transferred. The website can generally be used without providing personal data.

2. Controller

Controller within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR:

Peter Matysiak
Bürgerheimstr. 5
10365 Berlin
Germany
Email: peter.matysiak@pleaple.com

3. Hosting and server logs

When you visit the site, the hosting provider automatically records technical information transmitted by your browser: anonymised IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL. This data is used to ensure the security, stability, and error analysis of the service (legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest). It is not merged with other data sources and is deleted after a short period.

4. Contact form (Formspree)

The contact form on this website is operated via Formspree (Formspree, Inc., 251 Little Falls Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808, USA). Data you submit — in particular your name, email address, company, subject, and message — is transmitted to Formspree's servers, processed there, and delivered to me by email. I use this data solely to respond to your enquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient handling of enquiries). A data processing agreement is in place with Formspree. Transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR.

Formspree's privacy policy: formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

5. Scheduling (Calendly)

Scheduling is handled via Calendly (Calendly, LLC, 3423 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305, USA). When you book a meeting, your name, email address, chosen time, and any further details you enter are transmitted to Calendly. This data is used solely to arrange and conduct the meeting.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR.

Calendly's privacy policy: calendly.com/privacy.

6. Email (Google Workspace)

The address peter.matysiak@pleaple.com is operated on Google Workspace (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; parent company Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). When you email me, the content and metadata (sender, recipient, timestamps) are processed and stored on Google's servers for as long as is necessary for the communication and its documentation.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual or contractual) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in professional communication). Transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the Standard Contractual Clauses.

Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

7. Google Fonts

This site loads typefaces (Inter Tight, Newsreader, JetBrains Mono) from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC, addresses as above). When a page is loaded, your IP address is briefly transmitted to Google so that the fonts can be delivered.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in consistent, fast typographic presentation). Transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

8. Cookies and local storage

This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics. A few preferences — your chosen language and the light or dark theme — are stored in your browser's localStorage, exclusively on your device. This data is not transmitted to any server.

Legal basis: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG (technically necessary storage).

9. Your rights

You have the right at any time:

  • to access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR);
  • to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR);
  • to have your data erased (Art. 17 GDPR);
  • to restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
  • to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR);
  • to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
  • to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

An informal message to peter.matysiak@pleaple.com is sufficient to exercise these rights.

10. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For me, this is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin (datenschutz-berlin.de).

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be adjusted as needed to reflect changes in the law or in this website. The current version applies.

As of April 2026.
